This approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.
Wendy is also passionate about community engagement through visual arts which has led to her involvement in art therapy workshops. “For children, every day brings new discoveries in an ever changing, rapidly paced world. A world in which technology permeates their senses with explosions of sound and colour.
I try to slow down this process and give them a chance to breathe in the wonder and the beauty. To take the time to think and react, with a traditional, tactile expression of themselves. I strive to give them an anchor, a point from which they can identify who they are and then move courageously through the world. I aim for a balance of the inner and outer worlds.”
Since 2016 Wendy has facilitated motivational Art Workshops for professionals and coordinated art therapy workshops for children. She also works creatively with women at the Nundah Community Centre , Brisbane, during DV month.
