We constantly convince ourselves that we don’t have the talent or skill to start new challenges. “I could never run a marathon or I shouldn’t even try running for student ambassador.” As a result, we miss many opportunities in life.
In reality, what is really holding us back is our FEARS, not lack of skill set. Our fear of failure and fear or uncertainty is the first hurdle in seizing these missed opportunities.
To overcome our fear is not to hide them. Instead, face them with our strengths by building self-confidence and resilience - skills that we can learn and master. Think of strengths as a muscle: we need to flex them so they get stronger and more defined.
